St Barth's 2010: Final Results

The St. Barths Bucket has just concluded after 3 remarkable  days of racing in the turquoise blue waters of the Caribbean with a fleet of 39 superyachts, and 7  Perini Navi yachts attending the event.
The Overall Winners out of 39 yachts were Ranger, a J class 42-meter, the 47m Perini Navi Andromeda la Dea in second and P2, the 38m Perini Navi in 3rd place after handicapping.
S/Y Andromeda la Dea, 47 meter was awarded first place in Les Grandes Dames de Mer class reserved for Cruising boats and P2, the high perfomance Perini Navi S/Y of 38 meter,  received second place in Les Gazelles de Mer Racing class.
Each race of the regatta aroused great emotions to all boats participating: in the first race, The Around the Island Race,  Salute, the Perini Navi sloop of 56 m, launched in 2008, with the highest aluminum mast in the world, sailed an excellent race to finish  second in Les Grandes Dames, only three minutes behind the winner Hetairos, S / Y of 40 meter.  Salute finished in 6 place overall.
In Les Gazelles class P2, helmed by Australian Peter Holmberg impressively captured 2nd Place just behind the J class yacht Ranger and beating some very notable racing yachts. In the third and last race, Wrong Way Around Course, the Podium was entirely occupied by Perini Navi: Andromeda la Dea finished first, with a very close second Riela and Helios third and Antara fifth. The results of the third day saw no less than 6 Perini Navi’s finish in the first 12 boats in Class Les Grandes Dames and P2 finished second in Les Gazelles.
Among other awards presented Antara, the 46.5m Perini Navi , received the All Star Crew Award. At each Bucket Event, every yacht is asked to cast a ballot for the yacht crew among the fleet that demonstrates the most professional service in all tasks, while maintaining the best joie de vivre, camaraderie, teamwork and respect among the crew.
Baracuda, the 50m Perini Navi won the Vitters Seamanship Trophy, which is awarded to the yacht that demonstrates the best seamanship and sportsmanship in the interest of promoting safety on the race course. Baracuda retired from the last race in order to provide medical attention to one of their guests.
Andromeda la Dea was awarded the Perini Navi Trophy, as the Perini Navi Yacht with the best combined result and sailing performance in the regatta.
