S/Y 48m LEGACY
Project Description
The Yacht
This unique 48, yacht, built for an American client, is the greatest testimony to Perini Navi’s durability and trustworthiness. The yacht broke free of its moorings during hurricane Wilma in 2005 with the owners and 6 crew members on board. It was dragged into the sandbanks of the Florida Keys and was pounded for over 48 hours by massive breaking waves. No one was hurt. And the yacht survived, albeit without its masts. After a lengthy and difficult recovery (the Florida Keys are a protected natural park) Legacy was returned to the high seas and is alive and well.
