AUTHORITY. ADVENTURE. ANDROMEDA.
Second Perini Navi built for Thomas Perkins and the second of the 46-metre series, subtly extended to 47 metres to accentuate the long reverse stern that defined the yard’s early aesthetic, Andromeda La Dea holds a singular place in the evolution of modern sailing. Delivered in 1990 by Perini Navi, she became the first Perini to circumnavigate the globe.
She has sailed every ocean, east and west, from Hong Kong to the Galápagos, from Alaska to Antarctica, completing three circumnavigations for three different owners. Among her passages, a North Atlantic crossing during the legendary Perfect Storm secured her place in contemporary maritime lore. Deep Perini blue hull, silver superstructure and interiors enriched with dark red leather and a wood-burning fireplace expressed a personality equal to her itinerary.
DESIGN IDENTITY
Iconic Proportion
Constructed in steel with an aluminium superstructure, and measuring 47 metres overall with a 9.2-metre beam and 304 GT, she embodies the structural authority and balanced geometry of early Perini architecture. The elongated reverse stern enhances her visual harmony and reinforces the distinctive profile that became emblematic of the shipyard’s formative years.
Her interior layout, conceived for extended ocean living, accommodates up to twelve guests across six staterooms, including a full-beam master suite. The presence of a fireplace within the main saloon, combined with rich timber finishes and leather accents, creates a residential atmosphere rarely associated with sailing yachts of her era. The rare on-deck guest cabin further distinguishes her configuration, blending privacy with proximity to the sea.
