SY BARACUDA – 50 M KETCH (2008)
Minimalistic, yet refined cruising ketch
Designed by Perini Navi’s in-house naval architects in collaboration with Ron Holland, Baracuda introduces several technical innovations. Her canting keel allows the draught to vary from 4 to 9.7 metres, optimising both access and sailing performance. The sail plan is supported by two aluminium masts and a carbon-fibre boom developed by Perini Navi’s Mast Division, delivering a substantial sail area that underscores her focus on dynamic, responsive sailing.
Exteriors
Unconventional Versatility
S/Y Baracuda presents a striking exterior profile defined by an aluminium hull with sharp, aerodynamic lines and a distinctly contemporary presence. Her metallic grey livery, nuanced with golden undertones, interacts with the silvery reflections of the superstructure, while the unconventional rectangular portholes reinforce a language of controlled experimentation. The stern is designed for versatility, with a transom door that opens almost entirely to form an expansive swimming platform, connected to the tender garage via a hydraulically operated staircase.
