SY CARLOTTA – 37 m Ketch (1992)
Classic. Crafted. Continuum.
Delivered in 1992 by Perini Navi at their Viareggio yard, S/Y Carlotta represents a refined evolution of the earlier S/Y Gitana.
Conceived as a 37-metre ketch of balanced proportions, she embodies the phase in which Perini Navi perfected the dialogue between structural solidity and Mediterranean elegance.
She remains in the ownership of the same Italian entrepreneur, a continuity that signals enduring appreciation and attentive stewardship.
DESIGN IDENTITY
Balanced Rig. Integrated Vision.
At 37 metres with a beam of 7.6 metres and a gross tonnage of 200 GT, she expresses the construction language that defined Perini Navi in the early 1990s. Her steel hull, aluminium superstructure and teak decks create a composition of strength, precision and warmth.
As a true ketch, she carries two aluminium masts: a commanding main mast forward and a proportioned mizzen mast aft. This rig configuration ensures an even distribution of sail area, refined balance under way and composed handling across a wide range of conditions. The relationship between hull form and sail plan reflects a disciplined architectural approach rather than decorative intent.
As an evolution of Gitana, she presents enhanced volumetric balance and refined deck ergonomics, elevating circulation and onboard liveability. Exterior design, naval architecture and interior styling were conceived in-house by Perini Navi, reinforcing the integrated philosophy that distinguished the yard during this period.
She accommodates six guests across three staterooms, supported by a professional crew of five.
S/Y Carlotta expresses unity: structure, rig and interior conceived as a singular design vision.
