A project shaped for long-range sailing
Designed by Ron Holland and launched in 2007 under the name Helios, MARE NOSTRUM belongs to a generation of Perini Navi sailing yachts conceived for true ocean cruising. As the second steel-hulled 45-metre yacht delivered by the yard, she reflects a moment in which performance, volume and comfort were carefully rebalanced to meet the expectations of experienced owners.
Originally conceived as a robust and capable sailing platform, MARE NOSTRUM has evolved over time through successive refit cycles, confirming the adaptability of her original design logic.
DESIGN IDENTITY
Performance-driven volume
With a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, MARE NOSTRUM combines structural solidity with controlled weight distribution. Her generous beam and internal volume set her apart within her size range, allowing Perini Navi to expand interior spaces without compromising sailing efficiency.
The sail plan featuring a 52.10-metre mast and over 1,150 square metres of sail area ensures powerful yet manageable performance, while the yacht’s hull form absorbs additional displacement through refined underwater geometry, maintaining balance and responsiveness under sail.
