SY MELEK – 56 M KETCH (2010)
A sovereign presence
Launched in Viareggio in 2010, S/Y Melek — ninth yacht of the celebrated 56-metre series — represents the seamless fusion of Perini Navi craftsmanship with the personal vision of her Owners, previously accustomed to motoryachts. Measuring 56 metres overall, with a beam of 11.52 metres and a displacement of approximately 540 tonnes, she unites scale with grace. With her aluminium hull and superstructure, 3.95-metre draught keel up and 9.73-metre keel down, Melek is equally at home in sheltered anchorages and blue-water passages. Today, she sails proudly across the Mediterranean, the living embodiment of a yacht conceived for range, performance, and elegance.
DESIGN IDENTITY
A home at sea
Elettra may have pioneered compact innovation, but Melek redefined spacious refinement. Her interiors, designed entirely by Perini Navi with the close involvement of her Owners, extend across luminous volumes conceived as a true residence at sea. A total sail plan of 1,500 square metres, carried on masts rising 58.5 and 48.1 metres above the waterline, ensures a commanding yet balanced silhouette. The interiors favour proportion and comfort, suffused with natural light, where lifestyle and seafaring coexist in equilibrium. Naval architecture by Perini Navi in collaboration with Ron Holland translated technical mastery into flowing exterior lines, while the ABS Malta Cross classification and LY2 compliance confirm her as a yacht conceived for both private enjoyment and global voyaging.
INTERIOR DESIGN
Geometric symmetry
The interiors of S/Y Melek unfold in warm refinement: rich wooden panelling and lacquered surfaces are bathed in soft, orchestrated light, while filtered daylight enters through slender blinds. Geometric symmetry and understated furnishings compose a serene equilibrium, shaping a salon conceived as both a stage for convivial gatherings and a sanctuary for private contemplation upon the sea.
